A lack of self-love shows up in our lives in many different ways.

There’s people pleasing, where you give, give, give and attract those who take, take, take. Eventually you are wallowing in self pity, feeling like a powerless victim full of pent up resentments and jealousy.

There’s also the external validation where you think you’re “bad” if you don’t work hard enough, marry the right person, be perfect to be loved. This constant feeling of “not enough-ness” bleeds into one’s ability to attract and thrive in a healthy relationship.

Codependency, self-abandonment, mistrust, narcissistic behaviors, depression, anxiety, lack of control, anger, insecurity, fear, self-sabotage, procrastination, stagnation, and even addictions are often common.

When we don’t know how to soothe, nurture and care for ourselves with compassion and kindness, we look outside of ourselves for our well-being. This renders us powerless.

If you’re not loving yourself first, most, best, and always, you will constantly live the exhausting conditional life trying to manipulate situations and people to make you happy.

Self-love is more than massages, margaritas and shopping sprees. Some people are so lacking in self-love that they feel completely trapped in their lives because they are disconnected from themselves.

  • Understand how to create a new adult relationship with parents, siblings and friends.

  • Set goals and be held accountable achieving small steps towards them.

  • Start to feel awesome and fired up about every day as you now enjoy the journey!
